The College of Engineering, makes Global Learning experiences a mandatory part of the curriculum (along with research experiences, service learning, interdisciplinary studies, internships, study abroad and leadership experiences), after a review that focused on Engineering in 2020. Given your interest in China, I thought you would appreciate knowing that the Confucius Institute (http://www.confucius.ku.edu) will be offering Mandarin classes for the public beginning this fall. These practical and enjoyable courses will be held at convenient times for working professionals, families, and retirees over a 10-week period at KU’s Edwards Campus in Overland Park and also in Lawrence.
