Drs Abdulrahman El-Sayeed, John Mack, Nerse Gevorgyan and Voldemar Kolga.
In 2006, instead of holding the Global Learning Conference at Wichita State University, support was directed towards collaboration with Friends University, Kansas Newman University and Butler Community College to stage the Global Challenges Conference. It was held at Friends University. This conference attracted Fulbright Fellows from around the world. Three Fulbright Fellows were sponsored by the Global Learning Program to contribute to a symposium on Educating the Global Citizen. The symposium was organized by Drs Glyn Rimmington and Kay Gibson. Dr Gibson chaired the symposium, while Dr Rimmington was presenting the keynote to another conference in Graz, Austria. Contributors to the symposium were Dr John Mack from Labette County Community College, Dr Voldemar Kolga from the University of Tallinn in Estonia, Dr Nerses Gevorgyan from the Ministry of Education and Science in Yerevan, Armenia, Dr Abderrahman P. Ulfat Al-Sayed from Saudi Arabia and Dr Benxian Li from the Institute of International Studies in Xi’an, China. The conference attracted faculty and students of local universities and colleges as well as local business people. Our plan is to combine the papers from the 2005 Symposium on Challenges for Education toward 2010 at the Empire of Interdependence Conference and the papers from this year’s symposium into a book.
