David Lynn, Ryan Loucks and Jacob Wallace, members of one or 7 design teams in the ME 662 Mechanical Engineering Design course at Wichita State University presented their finished design to a combined Wichita, Kansas and Moscow, Russian audience on Thursday, May 4th. In Moscow, Dr Stanislav Pogrebnyak and Alexander Vasiliev, Chief Engineer, from Progresstech in Moscow along with 4 members of a team at the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute (MATI) joined the presentation by videoconference. A reciprocal videoconference by the MATI team will be held on Friday, June 2nd for their sponsors at Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita.

Plans are underway in the Fall to offer more opportunities for global learning engineering design projects for teams at WSU and MATI as well as for mixed WSU/MATI teams to work on design projects for sponsors in a third country. By the Spring of 2007, we plan to involve students at institutions and sponsoring companies in India, the United Kingdom and Australia.
